General tips for your photography sessionI thought I should share just a few of my tips on a couple things that people hardly ever think about before they head out to their first photography session.Believe it or not, the best time of the day for pictures is early morning or right before sunset. This is called the "Golden Hours." It provides the most beautiful natural lighting to your pictures! Overcast days are great all day long!Bring bottled water so you can stay hydrated. Bring snacks for small children. Also, bring someone who can play with your children away from the session area when they are not being photographed. This helps everyone stay relaxed and happy. If you are getting your hair cut for the session, it's best to have it cut a week in advance.Special props are always welcome and become very special additions to your photos.Get plenty of rest the night before and drink lots of water. Both will reduce puffy eyes. For guys - a fresh shave is always nice. When thinking about wardrobe* Matte makeup looks best * White or neon bright clothing will make you appear washed out.* Bold stripes, large designs, clothing with words or logos on the front, polka dots all draw attention away from your face* Darker shades are more flattering and slimming* In group pictures, clothing coordination is very important. Choose clothing in the same tones or color range so that no family member stands out.* Solid colors work best. However, it's best to avoid red or orange as they overpower the face.* Khaki is a great choice as it works well indoor and outdoor and has a great tonal quality.
