Police: 'It's a proud day to be a Boston police officer', In an "extraordinary collaboration" between local, state, and federal officials, -- Dzhokar Tsarnaev -- aka "Suspect #2" -- was taken into custody this evening.It began when a diligent citizen -- acting on instructions by police to stay inside all day -- ventured outside from his home, once police allowed citizens to emerge. Taking officials' warning of "vigilance" seriously, the citizen -- upon noticing a young male inside a boat in his backyard -- notified authorities immediately. Officials set up a perimeter around the neighborhood, and worked swiftly to apprehend him.Authorities say 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev is currently in "serious condition" at a local hospital.In an almost-live setting played out online and on-camera, FBI agents, officials with the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), state,and local police apprehended the 19-year-old United States Citizen they say worked with his now-deceased brother to put into motion the Boston Marathon bombings.Just moments after Dzhokar Tsarnaev was apprehended -- alive -- by authorities, a voice came across a Boston scanner feed proclaiming,We got him. It's a proud day to be a Boston police officer."Twenty-six-year-old Tamerlan Tsaraev (now deceased), and his younger broughter, Dzhokar Tsarnaev, (now in custody) are believed to have acted alone in the bombings which took place at the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon. Both are/were residents of Massachusetts: Tamerlan Tsaraev was a legal permanent resident and Dzhokar Tsaraev is a naturalized U.S. citizen.Tamerlan Tsarnaev, age 26, was previously designated as Suspect 1, wearing a black hat. Dzhokar A. Tsarnaev, age 19, was designated as Suspect 2, wearing a white hat. Both were born in Kyrgyzstan. The Federal Bureau of Investigation made an unprecedented move Thursday when they released photos of the brothers to the general public, acknowledging their "desperation" for help in apprehending the Tsaraev brothers.Based on information obtained by federal authorities, it was determined that Tamerlan Tsarnaev was a follower of radical Islam and a strong believer, and that he had changed drastically since 2010 as he prepared to leave the United States for travel to the country’s region to join unspecified underground groups.More information will released as it becomes available.
